More Evidence of Goddess and Fertility Worship in Prehistoric Times (5/15/09): A news story from Reuters.com came out yesterday to announce that a new archaeological discovery has been made in southern Germany. A "Venus" figurine determined to be approximately 35,000 years old was carved by Paleolithic Europeans - according to researchers. This is about 5,000 years older than the famous Venus de Willendorf figure discovered in 1908 in Austria. This figurine shown is only about 60 millimeters long, but it definitely has shed further light on how important sex and reproducing was to our ancient ancestors.
